This month, the Beatus Cras cleaned up nature areas. We gathered some friends and collected trash and recycling at a local nature preserve- 9 bags full! In total, we gathered 562 pieces of recycling and 5 bags of trash from a few sites in our nature preserve. Many times litter gets washed into streams and ends up stuck in shallow areas or sharp bends, which is where we focused our efforts. Although we collected a lot of trash and recycling, there is still a lot of work we can do in our local area, just as there is a lot you can do in your local green spaces! Nature can be appreciated and preserved at any time of the year, so as the weather warms up think about heading to a green area near you, and maybe bring a trash bag!
